Cisc Vs Risc

Cisc Processors:

•Complex addressing modes
• More number of clock cycles are required to execute each instruction
• More number of instructions
• Instructions are Microcoded
Ex: Intel x86, Motorola 68000

Risc processors:

•Simple addressing modes
• One clock cycles is required to execute each instruction
• Less number of instructions
• Instructions execute in the hardware directly
Ex: ARM,PIC,
